Deanie Harrison

Photography

As a photographer I have spent the last few years refining my vision and learning the different ways I can express what I am seeing.  The images that I’m submitting for consideration are all abstract, made through the use of Intentional Camera Movement and Multiple Exposure.

All images are original work, created by me in the past twelve months.  The multiple exposures were done in camera, with nothing added and I do not add or remove elements from my images, with the exception of dust or sensor spots.

These abstracts have been printed on photo rag as I have found that this is the best medium for this type of image as it highlights the depth of colour and texture in the image.

Biography

Deanie Harrison is a photographer based in Tsawwassen, BC that specializes in Intentional Camera Movement and Multiple Exposure photography. Following a lifelong interest in photography, she took a more active and intentional approach to her photography in 2016, honing her photography skills and personal style. Deanie’s work is inspired by the beauty of nature and is meant to convey a sense of place. She has spent the past two years travelling from pole to pole in photography workshops to develop different techniques in an effort to make images that are impactful and unique to her vision. As a result, her work spans live subjects like penguins and polar bears to landscapes like sea shores and ski hills.

In 2022, Deanie retired from a job in sales into her passion, photography. She lives in Tsawwassen, BC with her husband where, outside of photography, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her three daughters, (their husbands), and her two grandsons, and staying active through golf, cycling, and nature walks.
