Catherine Bourget

Pottery

Coming from a family of watercolourists, dressmakers, designers and curators, I knew there had to be something creative inside me.  I started with the Delta Potters Association in 2016 and like all new potters, I took every class I could.  I love the feeling of moving and shaping clay.  It’s icky and sticky and wonderful.  Starting by hand pinching small pots, I began creating my sheep; the goal to make all the ewes of my mothers childhood in northern England.  Hence @hey_there_ewe.  Challenged to make a highland cow I moved into furrier animals.  Now I am obsessed with fungus and sea creatures.
