I have always been drawn to items that are beautiful and invoke a sense of happiness, which has influenced my creative process. Yet, when I create art, I want it to be functional; it would be unfitting to create something meant to uplift, just to remain forgotten on a shelf. That is why I work with everyday objects, such as glassware and clothing using a variety of media. In this way, something ordinary can become a work that someone will be proud to own; a glass itself may not invoke delight, but perhaps the painting on it might. It is the small things that bring whimsy into life, and I aim to make art that can remind people of it.

Biography

Breanna Yang is an artist based in Delta, BC. After studying traditional art with guidance for several years, she has continued independently learning other media such as digital illustration, wire art, and photography.
